A surreal opening sequence for a short film directed by Mahsa Emami features a writer who loses her grip on reality as her fictional world begins to take over. People around her appear emotionless, plastic, and detached.

I used rubber ducks, googly eyes, and elevators, the main symbols of the film. The blue, yellow, and red color palette adds a toy-like feeling, blurring the line between the absurd and the unsettling.

Inspired by works like Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and The Importance of Being Ernest, the sequence explores themes of identity, detachment, and the surreal nature of storytelling.
